Build Direct Hardwood Flooring Review

Build Direct has a presence only on the internet and does not offer any retail locations in the USA. Unlike other online dealers the company does have larger minimum orders that rules out covering a small dining room or kitchen for example. A few bright spots see their distribution channel that creates a demand with very low shipping rates.

Comparing their hardwood products to better known brands in the USA one has to wonder, why not go with the Build Direct offerings? After all, many of their engineered hardwoods are basically similar yet the pricing is much lower due to offshore production. Yes, just like Bruce and Armstrong there are several entry level engineered hardwoods with products that can never be refinished if need be, but Build Direct also offers a few lines with thick veneers at substantially lower prices.

The company has made some good inroads as far as building an internet only brand, yet they do no major advertising in the likes of Lumber Liquidators, Armstrong, Mohawk, and Shaw hardwoods. If there are any drawbacks with any of their product lines we would have to point fingers at their ¾ inch solid collections. They are not milled to NOFMA standards in so far as overall lengths are concerned by rarely going over six feet in length.

If you're looking for the easier click lock or fold type installation, several lines fit this format including their Yanchi brand of bamboo, One disadvantage lies in the overall lengths set at 24 and 48 inch only. It will take some creative thought to create a true random length installation. Also fitting the click lock bill is the Jasper Hand Scraped line.

Looking at the finishing process, several product lines offer premium finishing systems manufactured by Klumpp Coatings and Treffert; two German based companies whose high standards are recognized worldwide
