Plyboo Bamboo Flooring

Plyboo Bamboo is not a household name but has many others beat in so far as aPlyboo Bamboo track record that dates back to 1993; almost prehistoric when it comes to bamboo flooring availability in the USA. The product terminology may seem awkward when comparing other brands. For instance a standard horizontal style is called flat grain while the company calls the vertical product end grained bamboo.

One concern with many consumers today is indoor air quality. With many lower priced bamboo products off gassing, formaldehydes, and other unfriendly building materials are often used. Smith & Fong Plyboo products are FloorScore® certified; a stringent air quality standard used in schools.

One unique line with Plyboo is termed a squared end grain. This special order style shows a mosaic look where individual strands of bamboo are assembled vertically top to bottom. Although a very busy look offered in four colors including a dark

Havana shade, decorators are sure to want a peak.

Most Plyboo products are solid with standard 5/8 inch thickness and 3 5/8 in width running 72 inches in length. Exceptions include the distribution of a sports floor style in a traditional ¾ inch by 2 ¼ inch strip nail down dimension and a thinner solid strand bamboo plank only running 36 inches long. One additional dimension can be the floating engineered floor product at 9/16 thick by 4 ¾ inches wide offered in strand only. The company also sells Dura Palm (coconut tree) paneling and flooring along with bamboo plywood.
