US Floors Natural Cork Flooring

US Cork Flooring also known by the brand name Natural Cork is manufactured in Portugal, much like many other cork flooring products through the Amorim Corporation. The company offers more sedate and fewer loud colors like that of other manufacturers. Product lines are Greenguard certified, meaning they've passed rigorous testing standards where materials used in manufacturing do not throw off harmful odors.

With cork flooring styles changing and being updated yearly, US (stands for unique and sustainable) Floors has a presence with cork plank flooring in their Almada Collection. These narrow four inch micro beveled planks come in 22 colors from our review in December of 2010. Installation applications show a much easier "drop and lock" method that most weekend enthusiasts can handle with relative ease. Additionally, wider plank products are sold in other dimensions or what seems an industry standard at 12 inch wide by 36 inch length.

Much wider tiles mimicking slate and stone in both color and appearance are discovered within the New Dimensions product fold that also show micro beveled edges. Dimensions run about 17 inches wide by 25 in length. All products, except a solid cork glue down parquet are constructed with moisture resistant high density fiber board. Finish types offered are their proprietary Endura AR (natural oil) with Advanced Abrasion Resistance.

The company has a large dealer network presence in the USA with some internet dealers, not only with their cork flooring products but also bamboo and their Navarre natural oiled hardwood floors. Cork itself has proven to be naturally resistant to mold and mildew, uncommon with other floor coverings.
