Don't think your household can be careful enough with hardwood floors? Several very attractive products are available that will have some thinking they are not vinyl floors, specifically Metro Floors and their Konecto vinyl plank line.

You may have heard click lock floors are easy to install, but this one is even easier! Konetco is a floating vinyl floor, requiring no glue while connecting with a locking mechanism different than other floating floor types.

Konecto comes in planks giving it that wood floor look. Always wanted that hardwood flooring running into the bathrooms? No problem with this one. It is a complete waterproof floating floor, making it the first of it's kind. Konetco also solves a problem that has always plagued the building industry that uses lightweight concrete. It doesn't have to be glued!

Some product lines offered are Prestige, Wood Vinyl Floor From KarndeanCountry, and Sierra. Color selections run from rustic appearance to a creamy Maple look alike. All planks are 48 inches in length while running five and 6 inches in width. View the product presentation with the video below.

Karndean Vinyl Wood Plank

Karndean has an extremely impressive variety of choices. No other manufacturer holds a candle to what this company offers in both selection and quality in our opinion. Their extensive product line shows clean looking planks in what would be considered clear graded hardwoods up to today's popular distressing effects with plenty of character. Planks options begin at three inches width while going up to an impressive seven inches.

Of particular interest is their Van Gogh line shown above, satisfying a new demand in offering rough sawn appearances. Other options with the company present borders and feature strips.

Mannington Adura Lock Solid Vinyl Plank

Introduced in 2010 this product line is a replica of your typical engineered locking hardwood floor without adhesives or sticky joint connections. Offered in common hardwood species up to exotics and distressed the company does present one unique variation in that the Provence line is a random width type installation. Also unique is their embossed line that creates an actual surface feel of knotting and beveled edge treatments.

Build Direct

One newcomer to the vinyl tile market has been Build Direct in their Vesdura Luxury Vinyl Tile line. This product mimics a textured wide plank floor that offers an easy peel and stick type installation. Types include a reproduction of oak, maple, pine, and elm flooring. The company is heavy into offering free samples on many products they sell including this line.

Amtico Vinyl

Unlike Konetco, Amtico offers darker rich toned hardwood look-alikes in the form of Wenge, Teak, Rosewood, Cherry, Palisander, Black Walnut, and Elm. Herringbone, random Amtico vinyl plankswith plank, and even a ship's decking motif can be obtained.

Amtico can be found in Lowes, your local flooring store, or if you're the savvy shopper some online companies offer their products at substantially lower prices. Plank widths vary from 3 1/2 inches to five, running standard at 36 inches in length.

These floors don't offer the easy installation as Konetco, but does provide some attractive border designs that mimic hardwood. Also available are synthetic metal accents in the likes of Copper and Silver that can be added to any design. Planks are installed by the glue down method with an acrylic adhesive, requiring very sound a flat substrates that will not offer a telegraphing effect (seen above).

DuraPlank By Congoleum

Congoleum offers a minimal line of vinyl plank measuring 4 ½ inches in width only. When comparing to some of the newer exciting products mentioned above Dura Plank has almost become a plain choice. By way of explanation, the company does not offer any lively grain or color variation many consumers are seeking today.
